July 15, 2005: A simple boat fire on Lake Holiday turned serious over the weekend when the boat's owner could not be located.
All indications pointed to a possible drowning and dive recovery teams from around NW Indiana were called to help.

	The LOFS Fire Force was called to the scene of a boat on fire in Lake Holiday. After extinguishing the fire it was determined the boat's owner could not be located. Dive Teams throughout NW Indiana were called in to assist our divers in searching for a possible drowning victim. Here a Sheriff's Department K9 is used to help determine the cause of the fire.

	The boat was still afloat when the fire department arrived on scene. The boat was nearly completed damaged.

	An accountability board is used to keep track of all on scene. Dive Teams from Hobart PD, Lake County Aquatics, Cedar Lake FD, DNR, Porter FD, and Porter and Lake County PD were called in to help.

	Agencies from all over Lake and Porter Counties assisted.

	A Sheriff's Department helicopter helps in the search. After several hours at the scene the boat's owner was located away from the scene alive, well, and unaware of the search.
